WHAT'S HAPPENING? MacOS High Sierra users will need to take an extra step when upgrading their Cisco AnyConnect VPN client to version 4.5. WHEN IS IT HAPPENING?
Cisco AnyConnect Client for Mac incompatible with MacOS High Sierra I'm trying to connect with a DevNet Lab sandbox and have to download the Cisco AnyConnect Client in order to connect with the sandbox VPN, but when I try to download the client and install it i get a warning saying the version of the client i'm downloading is incompatible with.
Since December 19, 2017. WHY IS IT HAPPENING?
Due to changes in how Apple treats systems extensions in macOS High Sierra (10.13). WHO IS AFFECTED? Users attempting to upgrade to Cisco AnyConnect 4.5 on macOS High Sierra. Earlier versions of macOS are not affected.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO? Affected users will need to take an extra step to upgrade to Cisco AnyConnect 4.5. Instructions can be found at WHO SHOULD YOU CONTACT FOR QUESTIONS? 2018-2019 Standard Software University standard software can be found on all University-owned computers in the library, classrooms, labs, or offices. AntiVirus Software: Windows users are required to download Sophos Antivirus. Mac users have two options for antivirus, Sophos or Endpoint Protection, depending on the amount of memory on your computer.
We recommend Mac users with more than 4 GB of RAM to install Sophos, otherwise for users with 4GB or less to install Endpoint Protection. If there is another version of antivirus software on the computer, for both Mac and Windows users, it must be removed before the University provided antivirus is installed.
